Photography isn't something that I actively pursued growing up or even knew that I wanted to do. It was born out of my time living in Japan. While I was there, I felt freedom away from the pressure to "succeed" that hovered over me in America. I was able to simply observe and capture what I observed through my camera lens and in doing so, I fell in love with it. I got to create for no other purpose than to create. That was key to the start of my work, which is part photo diary and part stylized shoots.

While in Japan, I was drawn to Tokyo's cityscape at night. It inspires much of my work, which plays with neon lighting to capture the mystery, excitement and even darkness that I felt when I lived there. Additionally, I am drawn to female subjects and visually explore the challenges and nuances of what it means to be a woman in this day and age.

I am currently based in New York City with plans to create more video and documentary content this coming year.
